Data Services

Within their community, CCR&Rs play an integral role in the collection and analysis of data that

impacts the local child care system.  The creation of a solid data collection system is key to helping

CCR&Rs tailor their services to meet the needs of children and families in their communities and

 report these accomplishments to funders.

The Data Project works with the CCR&R network to strengthen its data collection and analysis

capacity. In addition, the Data Specialist performs ongoing research and analysis of early care and

education data for use in statewide policy advocacy.

The Data Specialist coordinates the data collection network of New York State’s Child Care Resource &

Referral agencies in order to help them better provide services and report to funders. Supporting the

usage of specialized database software and creating a solid data collection infrastructure is a key

part of the Data Project.  This is done through training and technical assistance by phone, email, online

 webinar software and site visits.

In addition, the Data Specialist performs research and data analysis to help advocate for child and

family-friendly policies at the statewide level. The Data Project regularly contributes to and produces

policy reports on child care accessibility, quality and affordability.
