CCR&R Project

While CCR&Rs serve as the linchpin of the child care service system for thousands of parents, providers and employers, the CCR&R Project stands in the gap as the key support for CCR&R agencies. From staff training, to contract questions and everything in between the CCR&R project is here to help.  Call 518-690-4217 for assistance.

Established especially to assist new and veteran CCR&R Directors and CCR&R staff members with a wide variety of daily dilemmas, contract questions, staffing concerns, workplace issues and more, the CCR&R Project helps on a variety of issues.

The purpose of the CCR&R Project is to enhance the ability for CCR&R agency staff to meet the CCR&R outcomes required by contract with the New York State Office of Child and Family Services (OCFS) as described here:

  1. Provide customer information and referral services on child day care to all parents who need it;
  2. Expand the supply of quality child day care by offering recruitment and training of providers;
  3. Improve the quality of existing child day care by offering training to providers, providing parent education and publicizing child day care standards and regulations, and
  4. Enhance employer support of child day care services.

Supporting the 39 CCR&R agencies throughout New York State to continuously improve access to services, provide quality of services and excellent program administration, the CCR&R Project is here for you.

Additionally, the CCR&R Project staff may provide assistance in one or more of the following ways: training, technical assistance in technology, data collection and documentation, sound business practices, policies and procedures, strategic planning, partnerships, marketing, staff development and board development.

New Director Orientation is scheduled with the Project Coordinator at the convenience of all parties shortly after a new CCR&R Director is hired.

A Site Visit may be conducted by one or more of the CCR&R Project staff for in-depth assessment of the CCR&R to determine to what extent the agency is meeting the CCR&R contract outcomes, offer assistance in meeting the contractual obligations, share materials and helpful knowledge or be of general assistance.  Such a visit will typically be followed by additional support.

Technical Assistance may be scheduled on an as needed basis by contacting the Early Care & Learning Council’s office.

Training is offered both through major institutes, through smaller regional and local workshops as well as individual consultation.  Training topics reflect suggestions from statewide CCR&R staff members and represent a high priority for future training.  A wide range of training topics is typically offered throughout the calendar year.

Funded by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, the Project focuses on the needs of the CCR&R. CCR&R Project staff members eagerly await your call or email. If it matters to you, it matters to us!  For a brief professional biography on each staff, please visit the staff section.
