Many working families scramble to find safe affordable child care. Some use a patchwork of caregivers to cover work schedules and many use unregulated care situations whose safety and quality we know very little. These makeshift solutions can leave parents stressed and concerned about the well being of their children and may leave children without the quality care and learning environment they deserve. Employers are impacted as well when unreliable child care situations result in absenteeism and substandard work performance.
Your donations help to educate working families and child care providers about available tax credits that help make child care affordable, promote Parent Central, a resource for families and providers, support the policy efforts that work to inform policy-makers and the public about the many benefits of early care and learning to children, families and society, and deliver critical training and technical assistance that stresses quality and best practice policies in early care and education to the 39 Child Care Resource and Referrals programs and many child care providers across the state.
